Arren Lenau, MSW, LSWAIC, PSychotherapist

Life throws some wild stuff at us and so often in this modern world we get too stuck in our heads, disconnected from our bodies, and lose sight of what we really want. The wisdom is already in your body. My goal is to create a space for you to tap into your inner wisdom and listen, to come back to your body, reconnect to your desire and find the path that you really want to be on. Healing looks like a lot of different things and psychotherapy can help us make meaning of our experiences and integrate what happened to us.

who I work with

My interests and background are in working with adults that have experienced trauma, grief and loss, religious trauma, anxiety, and depression, and working with LGBTQIA+ people and people experiencing gender dysphoria and/or seeking gender affirming surgery. As a social worker, I believe it is important to name systemic oppressions, such as racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, classism, capitalism and the ways they intersect in order to acknowledge the harm we continue to experience on a daily basis.

Philosophy and Approach

I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities including Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (a mindfulness and values-based practice), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT),  hypnotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness practices. I am also excited to offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) which can help treat a variety of issues including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and more. It is an exciting time in the therapy world and there are so many new healing modalities therapists use, such as EMDR, Somatics, Psychodrama, and Internal Family Systems to name a few. Because no one size fits all in psychotherapy, my therapeutic philosophy is to find what resonates with the person and see if it works for them. I’m excited to join you on your journey as we explore what brings you back to yourself, lights your soul on fire and allows you to heal.
